The Living Last
Supper
Sunday, March 9
This worship experience
took the audience inside the famous Leonardo da
Vinci painting, The Last Supper.
This
drama and musical presentation is performed by a group of men from
across Dubuque County reenacting that
moment in history
when Jesus tells his disciples that “one of you will betray me”.
What
began as a small group of inspired men from the Epworth area (hoping that at least their wives would come to see their
efforts), has grown into an annual ecumenical ministry. The 2008
Lenten season is the ninth year for
the drama, which is both inspirational and educational, as Jesus and
each
disciple make you feel like you are actually there, in the Upper Room
on that
fateful night of betrayal. The Living
Last Supper Band enhances the experience, sharing their gift of music
throughout the service. With a long
history of 42 performances for over 11,000 people, The Living Last Supper
has become a worship
experience many in
the tri-state area look forward to each year.
