Parish Council
The Parish Council assists the pastor in the spiritual leadership of the parish.Parish Council has 8 elected members, the Pastor and the chairpersons of the Administration & Finance Committee, the Board of Education, and a representative from the youth. The Parish Council meets on the third Monday of each month.

Finance and Administration Committee
The Finance and Administration Committee is responsible for planning, providing and supervising the financial affairs and the physical properties of the parish.  Its members oversee the budget, stewardship and church maintenance of the parish plant. 

Education Committee (Board of Education)
The Immaculate Conception Board of Education interacts with the Holy Family Consortium, All Saints, St. Matthews, Regis Middle School and Xavier High School.  It oversees the parish religious education programs for children and adults.  Special preparations for the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist, Penance and Confirmation are also offered.  There are five voting members elected for three-year terms.  The pastor and Director of Religious Education are members of the Board. 

Liturgy and Spiritual Growth Committee
This committee prepares for special liturgies and trains parishioners for participation in various Liturgical ministries. 
 
Social Concerns Committee
The Social Concerns Committee helps with several charities, including The Catholic Worker House, St.Vincent dePaul, Green Square Meals and Habitat for Humanity, and the Community Free Health Clinic and emergency help for parishioners. They also provide servers for the Sunday evening dinner at First Presbyterian Church.

Parish and Community Life Committee
The Parish and Community Life Committee organizes activities that bring our parish community together as one. 

Building and Grounds 
This sub-committee handles the maintenance of the parish buildings and grounds.  Committee members facilitate minor improvements and carpentry work and also give advice for major projects.

OPENING PRAYER

 

ROLL CALL

Present: Msgr. Bleich, John Fosdick, Gary Ward, Luis Rodriguez, Robin Nelson, Mike Brummer & Tom Fagan.

ABSENT AND EXCUSED: Fr. Nils Hernandez, Jacqueline Kuchta, Barb Klawiter and Jerry Morrison

ABSENT: Joe Hansen

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of March 4, 2008 were approved.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

SESQUICENTENNIAL REPORT: 

Going well, but a lot of work; Mark Forest is tentatively scheduled June 21, 2008.  A non- parishioner is willing to pay the $5500.00 fee.  A volunteer is needed to spearhead this activity.  (Project Coordinator).  Robin Nelson is to ask the Liturgy committee for a volunteer. 

ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE:

Tom Fagan reported on the budget review.  The committee is reviewing and presenting to council the budget next month.  There are still too many negative numbers.  A way is needed to balance the budget.

BUILDING AND GROUNDS: 

A very thoughtful spread sheet was presented. 

SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND LITURGY: 

1.  There will not be a liturgy picnic this year because of the parish picnic. 

2.  First Communion is April 27, 2008. 

 

BOARD OF EDUCATION:  See report for March, 2008.

SOCIAL CONCERNS:  No Report

 

PARISH COMMUNITY LIFE:  No report.

HISPANIC MINISTRY:  See Report

DEANERY COUNCIL MEETING:  Discussion on the Lord's Day; refreshing to read.  Families need time to be families.

ECUMENICAL PROJECT:   No report.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Parish elections are coming up.  There are 2 openings.  There is 1 opening for youth rep.  Gary Ward will call possible candidates.

CALENDAR/SCHEDULE/RESERVATION:

None

NEW BUSINESS:

Vocations:  Fr. Dave Shatz is the new Diocesan vocational director.  He is a very inspirational speaker.  Robin will take the information back to the Liturgy Committee

 

There are new norms for financial councils.  The Finance Committee will discuss this and report at the next meeting. 

 

Fr. Chris Podhajsky is coming for a 6 year term as pastor of Immaculate Conception and St. Wenceslaus.
